Greenery Wall

Our brides LOVE the greenery wall in our shop! We are always getting asked where we got it and how we installed it because they want one for their wedding!

Here’s the lo down on our greenery wall

I used boxwood panels I ordered from Amazon to make our greenery wall. There are twelve 20” x 20” panels that come in a box, I used 2 boxes. The space we covered with the panels is 7.5 ft by 8 ft. We used all but 1 panel to cover the area. We cut the panels in half for the bottom row to make it the height we needed.

What you need to make your own greenery wall:

  • Someone handy. For me that was my hubby. I was the vision and the one standing back giving orders, he did all the handy work.

  • A staple gun. Luckily my parents had one we could borrow but they aren’t too expensive. Here’s one similar to the one we used, but you could easily pick one up from your local hardware store. There are tabs along the edges of each panel that hook together which we used to attach them once we got the first one in place but a staple gun is essential to keep them on the surface you are putting them on.

  • A sturdy surface. If you are using this for a wedding or event where this wall will be temporary I would suggest getting plywood cute to your desired size backdrop. If there’s an open wall where you can have this back drop displayed, you can just lean the plywood up against the wall. If it needs to be free standing you will need to make a base so it can stand up right.

  • Paint. If you want a solid green look to your greenery wall I would suggest painting the surface you mount the panels on green first, especially if you’re doing plywood. I didn’t think this through before making my greenery wall and the panels are pretty thick and dense but you can see my light grey walls a little bit through them if you are looking up close.

  • Personalization. I had the She said yes wood words made by a local business in my area Mia Nicole Design Co. She painted the letters and put hooks on the back so I could hang them with fishing line. The back of the panels are a grid so it was easy to tie the fishing line securely to the panels for the words to hang down from.
