Do I need to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns?
We strongly recommend making an appointment to ensure undivided attention from one of our consultants. We will do our best to accommodate walk-ins.
What if I need to cancel or change my appointment?
Even if it is the morning of your appointment and you can’t make it in, a simple phone call or e-mail is greatly appreciated.
How long can I expect my bridal appointment to be?
At Something Blue, a consultant dedicates 90 minutes per appointment. During that time you and she will talk about your wedding date, venue, and budget, as well as your wedding vision and your personal style.
Who should I bring with me to my appointment?
While we don’t limit the amount of guests you can bring, we recommend you bring the person or person(s) closest to you, and suggest keeping your party to four or less during your visit at Something Blue. We are a cozy boutique with limited seating.
Are children allowed in the boutique?
Children are allowed in the boutique, however we do ask that they are supervised at all times.
Do you buy preowned wedding dresses?
We do not. We only sell dresses ordered directly from the designers.
Do you rent wedding gowns?
No, we do not rent. All of our gowns are for purchase.
Do I need to bring anything to the appointment?
Bring any special undergarments you’re comfortable in. We also encourage you to bring pictures of any styles or dresses you’ve seen and loved.
How much do your dresses cost?
We have a wide range of prices from just under $1,000 to $2,000. We do have samples for sell off the rack for under $1000. Check out our online outlet shop for our current sample sale.
What sample sizes do you carry?
Most of our samples are between 10-14, but we have samples from size 8 to 24. We carry a good selection of plus size dresses. Additionally, during the try-on process your consultant has special techniques she’ll use to achieve the closest fit possible. Bridal sizes do typically run slightly smaller than standard sizes, so please keep this in mind when trying on.
How far in advance do I need to order my gown?
We recommend shopping for your wedding dress at least 9-12 months before your wedding day. Most wedding dresses take about 4-5 months to arrive after ordered. Also, a bride must take into consideration the time she may need for alternations and fittings after the dress arrives. If you are short on time, dresses are available on a rush delivery for an additional charge. We also have a good selection of samples that we sell off the rack.
Are Alterations available in-house?
We have in-house alterations and can recommend independent seamstresses who specialize in bridal gowns. Alterations are not included in the price of your gown. We do not offer alterations on attire not purchased from Something Blue.
What can I do with my dress after the wedding?
Something Blue carries Wedding Gown Preservation Company kits. For more information, check out their website: Wedding Gown Preservation Co
Do you offer refunds? Are cancellations possible?
Due to the custom nature of our business, all sales are final. We cannot accept cancellations once your order is placed or returns of any of our merchandise.
